i think maybe that's part of it, i agree, yeah. but i guess i thought if Shadoweyes didn't grab my usual readers that it would gain a different group of readers instead, which seems to have happened to some degree which is cool but nowhere near the level Wet Moon or The Abandoned. both of those have also been around much longer though, WM is almost 6 books, The Abandoned's been around since 2006, not to mention The Abandoned had much larger distribution, and Shadoweyes is at a much smaller publisher so i think a lot of people just don't notice it. i also think maybe it has something to do with the goth/punk aspect of my other casts of characters, and yeah the characters in Shadoweyes are a little punky but that angle isn't really there in the characters' fashion or look or whatever. there's no subculture angle in Shadoweyes.

or maybe it's just not as good as my other stuff, haha. or the appeal is narrower, or there are other inscrutable factors like it's just the wrong place, wrong time. there's no recipe for this kind of thing, who can tell. :hmm:

I guess I hadn't thought about how many factors need to come together for a comic to be well-known. But it's certainly as good as your other stories, and I'll continue to do my best to promote it however I can.

yeah, it's unpredictable! it's not always whether a comic is "good" or not, sometimes it's a lightning-in-a-bottle situation that can't be planned or replicated, sometimes thing strike a nerve, most times they don't. or sometimes things don't strike a nerve at first and it takes a while before it happens down the road, such as a movie that comes out and bombs at the theater but then a while later is super successful on video once its audience finds it.

thank you as always for the support!! it's truly appreciated. :)
