No, I actually didn't know. Good luck with the rest of the pages. I have seen lots of the preliminary art I guess and it looks awesome and I am a bit impatient and had hoped it was all out. When does the first issue go on sale? I want to make sure to get it.
my editor knows i'm doing it but i don't think i'd agree to have it published even if they offered, i just want it to be fun without the pressures of publication and the limitations of licensing and all that. it's purely for fun in my spare time and right now that's all i want it to be.
Would you ever consider selling this or any other images through the deviantart store? This is one of my favorite TMNT illustrations of all time and I would love to get a poster of it or even a nice print. I would also rather buy it from you than download it and print it out myself.
the originals of this piece are long gone, i'm afraid, and i can't sell prints of licensed characters through DA. i might make prints through another print service though, not sure yet. i feel kind of weird selling prints of characters that aren't mine but we'll see.
i'm really glad you like the pic, thanks! this one's pretty old, i've been meaning to do a new group shot but i haven't gotten around to it. YET!
They actually look like they are under 5 foot tall. Everybody always seems to draw them normal size. good ole school bandanas and pads. I like the grittiness and the smoke and touch of blood. Is there some secret to coloring them different shades of green? That's from the merchandise art from the cartoon- even though they were the same shade in the og comic and cartoon?!??!!? Dark greens for Leo/don, bright Raph and Mike? Like the original Renaisseance arteest? Duh, everyone knows Donatello is "bo" far the best. He is the "staff" member of the team to call on when you need back up. Also the only turtle who can give Shredder a "splinter!"
i'm a big fan of the short Turtles in the early comics. i'm not sure what you mean by there being a "secret" to coloring them different shades of green... that's one of my favorite things from the old toy line, the differing greens, so i tried to do a little of that here.
