Wow, your art is always so gorgeous, you can make something this simple look super beautiful. I really love the simple use of colours, works so well! I get the feeling that this is the first time Leo uses his own blue colour after the black one, feels really emotional. Love your work!
This is cool and would love to see this kind of image as a cover. I way want more gutsy drawings where artists establish characters without relying on the face. And I way want more drawings of the back of the Turtles shells.
Curse you and your color sensibilities! Sens-abilities!!!
This is awesome! As is all of the other turtle stuff I see come from you. BUt just once ... JUST once. I would LOVE, love, love to see you color them all in red, like how they used to do. The original turtles, before they were given multi-colors so that youngins' could tell them apart. I would die, if you did this!! XD Just sayin'. Keep up the good work, my friend.
Dunno HOW I missed those. But I just died a little inside. Ahhhhh. Toys / Cartoons were SO much better when I we were kids. I miss the 80s/90s. Who'd ever think Id be saying that? Toys today, and cartoons too, meh. Thank you so much for this! I can't wait to see what you do next!
That is cool as hell!! Somehow, even going through all your art recently, I still missed this one. ^^ I really LOVE the all red turtles. Even though I enjoy the new TMNT comics, I dont like the colored masks. Right now, the color classics that are coming out are a dream come true for me!!! Thanks again Ross.
thanks! glad you dig it. i used to be an all-red elitist when i was younger, i think i was the only 10-year-old who shunned the colored masks, but as i get older and mellower i don't care as much and i think both have their place. i gotta say i've been disappointed with the color classics, though, some of it looks cool but overall i'm not a fan of the new coloring (Shredder with blue hands?!). maybe i'm just accustomed to the original colorized versions from 1988-89. although even if i liked the color classics a lot i don't think i could bring myself to buy the same comics i already have a THIRD time, haha. i'm glad you dig them, though!! do you know how far they're planning on going? i thought i heard they were stopping with #11 but not sure if that's true.
Ive heard some talk that they were going to do the entire run. And Ive also heard talk that theyre going to where the 88-89 colorized trades ended, with them on the run, and April waking up from having a crazy dream about Super Shredder. Which is true, I could not say. I personally enjoy the color classics, because never before was there was a comic like the original TMNT. Now, Wetmoon is in a league of its own. But baring badass stuff like that, they really just dont make comics like they used to. SO ... seeing that original art, paired with todays coloring options, it just moves my inner nerd and I love it. I also enjoy seeing things like the blood in the first few issues colored red instead of white - I think that was a practices and standards thing - and the second issue on with Baxter and the Mousers, that that all just turned out so beautiful. So I personally can overlook just about anything wrong with it, because of all that is right with it. That said, I have my B&W copies of the originals. I have my 88-89 water color trades. And now have these color classics. Tis perfect for me. Thx again for your amazing art Ross. ^^
