...in a photo booth. i don't think this came out as well as i'd hoped originally, but i guess it's pretty good, though it was tough keeping the colors and highlights consistent with each picture. and tongues are hard to render, i've discovered. each picture is 7" x 8".

I just realized, Cleo seems to have several ear piercings in the older versions of her, but in the newer versions, she has none. Did she take them out and they closed up..? Or did you just feel it didn't fit with her character?

have you read the Wet Moon comics? she doesn't have any earrings in the comic itself, and she mentions she used to have some but took them all out after hearing about keloid scarring. all the drawings of Cleo with earrings were drawn before i started the actual comic so they're technically not canon. basically i took the earrings out for the comic because i didn't want to draw them over and over, haha.

I do remember that now lol

and I could only imagine drawing them over and over would be frustrating

I hope Cleo realizes that keloids can go away, without scars

oh, awesome!! thanks for reading.

i think even if Cleo knew keloids can go away she'd be too freaked out! my sister used to have a ton of earrings that resulted in MAJOR keloids, which Myrtle's ears are inspired by in volume 2 (my sister's were worse, though!) and i don't see my sister very often these days but i think even though her scars subsided they never fully went away. i'm sure it's case by case.

Yeah, I see what you are saying. It also depends on what it was pierced with, needle or gun? I had almost all of mine done with a needle, EXCEPT for my second lobe piercings, which are the only ones I've had that resulted in keloids forming.

it was this picture that got me interested in your works ages ago, and I've been excited everytime there was new art up from your Wet Moon comic - until about a week ago I caved in and ordered the first book. I haven't bought a comic for about ten years but I'm glad I did so now! I love your work, how real you make the people. Quite something to aspire to, if I ever draw something of my own... thanks and keep it up! I'll definitely will be getting the rest of the series, too. Malady is my favourite character, but Fern's awesome too.
