Mostly it's the hair that hypnotizes me, you've done a great (and very meticulous!) job with the braids.
i tried to keep the braids kinda stylized, rather than super realistic (which i've done for braided characters in the past), otherwise i'd be drawing braids FOREVER! remember my first book Spooked? the main character in that had a ton of braids and i swore i'd never draw braids again, but i buckled with this character, Kyisha.
Your photoshop drawings are great, I rarely see digital ink work retain so much personality.
And that other girl looks somehow nice, smart and determined, I really like her. :3
