Dear Ross: Please DON'T get hired to draw a Huntress book, therefore luring me back into the sordid, thankless life of a mainstream comics fan. I am really enjoying the post-DC era of my life. Thank you. -Samax
P.S. on the real, if DC throws money at you, please take it. I'm not that important! LOL!
haha, i think you're safe, i can't see myself ever agreeing to do a Huntress book, unless i was starving, i guess. i don't know anything about the character so i don't have any attachment to her, but if it was a Glory-type situation and they let me have free rein on the series i might do it, but i don't think i'd agree to it unless they let me write it and they agreed to butt out. so basically: it'll never happen.
THIS IS MY NEW FAV, IM JUST SAYING the purple, pink and blue !!!!<3<3 MY GOSH. I love how youve used the colours to give her form~ The hot pink outlining her <3 OH MYY, esp on the legs. Im also in love with the fact that the sky behind her, there's sort of this gradient. AND THEN I CAN IMAGINE, it is just the beginning of night and shes ready to roam the city, or the sun is coming up and shes done her duty with a nise action pose <3 SO EPIC ...i love you
thanks!!! i've drawn a couple Power Girl pics over the years, i even started a Draw Power Girl meme several years ago. i don't think i have any of the drawings anymore though. maybe i'll do a new one someday but it'll take a kick in the pants like with this Huntress one.
I think mainly because it's the only part of her that isn't the original colors. It still works, after all. I think also that her original design was already strong, and involving Red + Yellow + Blue evokes the whole 'like Superman' aspect of her.
In that regard, I hate how 'The Superfamily' are all second-fiddle to Superjesus, even though they are all comparably powerful. So maybe I should embrace the idea of removing Power Girl from a visual reminder of Superman?
Maybe the only thing that's odd is how much that small of a change can make me overanalyz.
I could go on and "inform" you about the Huntress.. but im not "that guy" lol
This is amazing bro! I love the play with colors, I feel your working with your preferred colors and the Huntress fits right in with them. I love how the pink is hitting her frame. You do such an awesome job!
Might I be so bold to ask, what did you use to color this?
haha. i did a little bit of research about the character but after getting just a paragraph or two in, i gave up. so there are TWO Huntresses but now they're the same person and one was from an alternate universe but now she isn't or SOMETHING?? nevermind.
anyway, glad you like the drawing, thank you! i colored this with markers and the sky is ink wash.
